“We’re not a sports bar, but we like to do stuff for the neighborhood, so even though the Broncos are out, the Super Bowl is still a big deal,” says the venue’s Scott Happel. “It’s a big cultural event. People who don’t care about football at all watch the Super Bowl.”
Regardless of whether it’s Tom Brady’s entitled petulance or Richard Sherman’s swaggering arrogance that you hate more, you’ll find like-minded people to revel in the schadenfreude when one of their teams falls to its inevitable defeat, and you get to watch it all happen on the biggest screen showing the game in Denver. It’s the next best thing to the Broncos winning the whole thing — which is certain to happen next year, anyway.
