After eight years of revving up snowmobile charity events around the country, Michigan-based nonprofit Pink Ribbon Riders is bringing its first annual Snow Run to Colorado this weekend at Winding River Resort in Grand Lake.

The two-day event, which supports breast cancer patients, kicks off tonight with a casual ride, a welcome party, a silent auction and a bra-decorating contest. Saturday's activities include a guided snowmobile ride and access to the groomed trails and powder fields at Winding River Resort.

"All the money raised in each of the states on our Snow Run tour is distributed back to residents in those states, and in many cases, we're the only organization providing direct financial support to those patients," says Pink Ribbon Riders co-founder Jody McKay. "Not to knock what other cancer-fighting organizations and events are doing -- research is so important, and so is prevention and education -- but we also know the daily costs for these patients can be overwhelming. If we can ease that pain, even for a day or two, we know we've helped."

Riders can register online at www.pinkribbonriders.com for $175 for the weekend, or $30 for the party alone. For lodging and snowmobile rentals (limited availablity), visit www.windingriver.com.
