Claire Oberon Garcia serves on Colorado’s State Historian’s Council and was the Colorado State Historian from 2023 to 2024. She is an interdisciplinary scholar whose work at Colorado College focuses on late-nineteenth and early-twentieth-century American literature and writing by women of the African diaspora.
