The Denver Police Department has rounded up more than thirty African-American suspects accused of robbing men and women, or beating the hell out of them, because they were either white or Hispanic.
It's the kind of startling accusation that's guaranteed to get politicians' attention. And indeed, Tom Tancredo, who has decided against running for governor but remains totally in favor of stirring up the populus, has demanded that the men either be charged under hate-crime laws or that such measures be stricken from the books (which he'd definitely prefer).
