Number 90: Eggs Benedict from Devil’s Food Bakery
The fact that I can hop on one foot to the front door of Devil’s Food Bakery from my house, has absolutely no bearing whatsoever on the fact that I’m there at least once a week — usually more. It just means that I feel incredibly lucky to have this joint in my ‘hood. It’s quirky, the java is strong, the racy red walls match most of my outfits and wigs, and the eggs Benedict is, without question, the best in Denver. The scratch made hollandaise — buttery, richer than Donald Trump and splashed with a judicious jolt of lemon — is undoubtedly doing a number on my arteries, but that’s what happens when you make a deal with the devil.
