Heading to Cherry Creek for dinner tonight? Skip Abrusci’s. The Italian restaurant that took over the former Campo di Fiori spot just over three years ago has closed, and there’s a “for lease” sign on the basement space.

Brothers Jeff and Steve Prograr opened the original Abrusci’s in 2000 in Applewood, the suburb where they were born; they moved into Cherry Creek a decade later. In February, Steve Prograr left the partnership, and moved to the Hideaway Steakhouse in Westminster. “The family business ran its course,” he explained.
And now the Cherry Creek Abrusci’s has, too. The Applewood restaurant remains open.
