SAME Café — the name is an acronym for So All May Eat — is now making sure that all may eat at once. Today, the innovative restaurant that serves healthy, organic food on a pay-what-you-can basis opened up a new dining room. The expansion basically doubles the size of cafe, which is tucked in a small retail strip at 2023 E. Colfax, across the street from Pete’s Kitchen.

Brad Birkey, who opened the café with his wife, Libby, two years ago, said that they will continue to serve the same food, and they’re keeping their regular hours: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday. The café had been serving upwards of 50 customers a day, and their original space was feeling the strain, he said.
