Amy Sedaris’s Golden First Date at Chipotle

We were baffled when Chipotle started wrapping its burritos and tacos in gold foil in the name of a new promotion (because the ingredients are solid gold, get it?). Not only is it a dumb marketing ploy, but it’s undoubtedly costing the homegrown restaurant chain plenty of extra packaging cash, since colored aluminum is more expensive than original silver. Maybe we’re missing something here, but don’t businesses try to shave superfluous costs?

That said, we’re now grateful for the move because the foil did provide another form of gold — comedic gold — for Amy Sedaris, who used it to get out of a horrendously awkward first date situation in a video sketch for funnyordie.com. Here’s the video:
