Yes, those are the fried tacos at Mexico City Lounge, 2115 Larimer Street, where we’ll be hosting a lunch with Gustavo Arellano, author of Ask a Mexican and an expert on all manner of Mexican food, fried or not, on Thursday, November 19. And the lucky winners of a seat at that table are Brian Green, Scuba Steve, B.J. Reinert, Ryan Anderson and Jodi Litfin. Congratulations, and get ready for some grease!
If you miss lunch, though, you can still meet the Mexican on Thursday night at Su Teatro, 721 Santa Fe Drive, where he’ll offer a sneak peek of Bordertown, his collaboration with producer Seth McFarland, an animated series that will debut on Fox in January. Come at 6:30 p.m. to grab a beer, enjoy a Mexican Hamburger Extravaganza and ask the Mexican all of your burning preguntas; the show will screen at 7:30 p.m., and a Q&A will follow. Admission is a $3 donation for the Grupo VolArte after-school arts program. For more information on Arellano’s appearance at Su Teatro, call 303-296-0219.
