Independent Journalism in Denver Needs You
We need to raise $25,000 by August 9 to support the reporting our community depends on. Reader support keeps us independent and is playing a larger role in funding local journalism and shaping what comes next. If you believe independent local journalism matters, make a contribution today.
Yet another fast-casual spot has popped up in the metro area, this time from a franchise originating in Texas. The location at 4086 South Parker Road in Aurora is the first outside of that state for the Salad Bowl, a place dishing out, well, bowls of salad.
Like a reverse salad bar (another Chipotle-like concept), the workers will compile your bowl as you work your way down the line.
Manager Aaron Hughes gave me a rundown.”The concept is fresh produce salads, and
you can create your own or work off a list of our signature salads,” he says.
“It’s a pretty basic idea. We offer fresh fruit, salad, vegetables, and
then we have a variety of proteins like shrimp, salmon, turkey, ham or
chicken to go on top.”
Hughes says the group has ambitious plans for expansion in the Denver
area, including an outlet in the Sheraton Hotel Downtown and another in
Southlands. But so far, it’s just doing guerilla marketing for this new outlet, which opened soft last month, handing out fliers and giving out samples.
The Salad Bowl will makes its Colorado connection official next week, with a grand
opening at the Parker store. But it’s already open and serving salad from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. For more information, go to the website or call 303-690-5785.
