Big Hoss Bar-B-Q, Hoss Orwat’s shrine to ‘que in Berkeley Park, is taking up residence where the Oven, Mark Tarbell’s pizza emporium at the Streets at SouthGlenn, shuttered in May. A call to Jennifer Jones, who manages the original house of smoke on Tennyson Street, produced little additional information — in fact, she hung up on me after declaring that “Hoss doesn’t like to talk to people” and probably wouldn’t return my call — but according to a sign in the window of the SouthGlenn address, 6955 South York Street, Big Hoss has a big date with the Centennial liquor administration on December 1, at 6 p.m.
