It’s been a big week for Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers. The Wichita-based chain opened its fourth metro location this week — just in time for former Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich to drop in yesterday for a final meal on his way to the Federal Correctional Institution in Englewood.
Freddy’s slogan is “the taste that brings you back,” but Blago is looking at serving a fourteen-year sentence on eighteen charges of corruption before he’ll be back.
So the memory of the patty melt he had at Freddy’s will have to last for a while.
Blagojevich stopped at Freddy’s for an early lunch before he turned himself in at FCI Englewood, where he’s now known as inmate 40892-424.
