Q: I have a friend visiting from Iowa who just came back from Budapest. Her hometown has no Hungarian restaurants. Are there any in Denver?
A: Finally ‹ proof that Denver is culinarily superior to a small town in Iowa. The Budapest Bistro (1585 South Pearl Street, 303-744-2520) is a small, charming eatery owned by Hungarians Rudi and Anna Hellvig, former owners of Csardas. They’ve revived their delicious chicken paprikás at this restaurant; the homemade strudel is another marvel.
