For most twentysomethings, the name Adam Sandler calls to mind the hilariously bad mullets of the Wedding Singer or the classic hockey-golfing of Happy Gilmore. So for a Gen-X member, it’s hard to write an item about a certain cocktail without including a line from Sandler’s “Hanukkah Song”: So drink your gin-and-tonic-ah/but don’t smoke your marajuan-ic-ah. And if you’re going to drink your gin-and-tonic-ah, there’s no better place for it than the Spot Bar and Grill. The tiny tavern is the ideal place to hang out over a juicy half-pound burger or tasty grilled-cheese sandwich and crispy fries. Made with the basics — well gin and tonic served on the rocks with a slice of lime — the Spot’s cool G&T ($3.50) is the perfect way to kick off a spring Saturday or wind down after a hectic Tuesday. And the friendly, laid-back staff would no doubt be amused by Sandler’s antics if he happened to wander in and join the Wash Park neighbors who spend most evenings either camped out in wooden booths inside the pub, or out on the porch with their pooches.
