The challenges facing local news organizations are very real. That's why reader support matters more than ever. If you believe independent journalism matters, make a contribution today and help us reach our summer fundraising goal of $25,000 by August 9.
If you’re searching for ideas to stuff a foodnik’s stocking this Christmas, we know of at least one gift that’s definitely worth giving: EatDenver, a culinary cavalry of locally owned independent restaurants, has just released its 2011 Dining Decks, a collection of 52 cards, each pimping $10 off any $25 food purchase at participating grub houses.
The Dining Decks, good January 1 through December 31, 2011, sell for $50 each (if you use all 52 cards, you’ll save $520!) and are available at www.eatdenver.com and all three Tattered Cover bookstores. “It’s the gift that keeps on giving,” says Elizabeth Woessner, vice president of EatDenver. “It’s a tremendously good value, and you get to eat at some the top restaurants in the city.”
Restaurants like Bones, Duo, Elway’s Cherry Creek, Mizuna, Panzano, Rioja, Solera, Table 6 and Vesta Dipping Grill, and dozens more, including the Steuben’s Food Truck. And three restaurants — Snooze, Cafe Colore and Dixons Downtown Grill — are featured on more than one card.
Proceeds from the Dining Decks support the efforts of EatDenver, and $1 from the sale of each deck will go toward the EatDenver Serves Schools program, an initiative, in partnership with Slow Food Denver, that supports food awareness and education in Denver Public Schools.
