Dive bars are disappearing all over metro Denver. The latest casualty? Eck’s Saloon, which was a rock-music haven as well as a popular Lakewood joint, although it had apparently become a lot less popular in recent years. People have been pouring out their memories in the comments section of our original story. A sampling:

From Christi: “So sad! I have so many great memories there! And it was the place I could feel close to some of the ones that are no longer with us. ( This bar was my “home” filled with family! I feel like so much is lost now. I’m literally in tears.”

From Melissa: “Another one bites the dust! Hey, I still miss the Rainbow Music Hall on Evans. It is a Walgreens now.”

Says Rachel: “What? Damn I’ve had some good times there!
