First Look: GoodBird Kitchen Gives Longmont the Bird

Dave Query’s Big Red F restaurant group just spun off a fast-casual version of the Post Brewing Co. in Lafayette: GoodBird Kitchen, which opened Tuesday in Longmont. Guests will find the same great fried chicken – which made restaurant critic Gretchen Kurtz’s list of her top ten dishes of 2015 – along with creative takes on country cooking. And although there’s no brewery at GoodBird, six beers from the Post are filling glasses at the new eatery – four on tap and two in cans. Look for a few fun new items on the roster, like dirty fries loaded with hot chile relish and pulled pork; a slushy dark and stormy; and a Nashville hot chicken sandwich. 

And wouldn’t some hot chicken taste good on this cold morning? GoodBird is open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., with happy hour from 2 to 5 p.m.

GoodBird occupies a former Pizza Hut, and although the roof line looks familiar from the outside, the interior features rustic decor similar to the Post. It’s owned by the Big Red F restaurant group, which also operates the Jax Fish House chain, Lola and several other restaurants in Boulder. For more photos, see our complete GoodBird slideshow.
