In late February, Hash, a breakfast joint owned by Heather Haupman, closed in Sunnyside, but the charming space wasn’t vacant for long. Ryan Turano, a chef who spent the last several years cooking in Breckenridge, snatched it up shortly after Haupman shuttered, and two weeks ago, he reopened it as Sunny’s, another breakfast spot that’s turning out an excellent board of morning glories, including several variations of eggs Benedict, waffles and pancakes, corned beef hash, specialty dishes like roasted vegetable latkes and a pork belly po’boy, fruit-forward smoothies and several organic oatmeal bowls topped with fruits, housemade jams and marmalades, nuts, honey and coconut. Sunny’s is open daily from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Here’s a first peek at the space, the menu and the food.
