Watch for Fluff Bar to open in early October at 1516 Wazee Street. Originally slated to be called Fluff Beauty Bar, the combo hair salon, cocktail lounge and champagne bar dropped “beauty” for reasons that should be obvious — if you’ve ever been to the fourteen-month-old Beauty Bar, at least.
“We’re just getting rid of that and going by Fluff or Fluff Bar,” says one of the owners. “Our sign will say ‘Fluff’ with the word ‘bar’ underneath it.” Fluff plans to offer such services as blow-dries, manicures and full makeup, while also acting as a lounge.
Master sommelier Brett Zimmerman, who owns the Boulder Wine Merchant, is heading up the wine and cocktail program. “You’ll be able to order bottles of hand-selected wines and champagne and creative cocktails up at the main bar while she’s getting her hair washed and blow-dried and then styled,” the owner says “And she could, for a nominal fee, have her nails done at the same time, all while sitting at the bar.”
