Garbanzo Mediterranean Grill, a Centennial fast-casual concept restaurant with four stores, plans to open a fifth location at the Cherry Creek Hotel, 600 South Colorado Boulevard, according to a sign hanging on a fence in front of the hotel, which is being completely renovated. A Panera Bread outlet will also open there.

Created in 2007 by Alon Mor, Garbanzo’s serves pitas, shwarma, falafel hummus and other mixed Mediterranean specialties with a healthy (no trans fat, no preservatives) bent. Its other locations are in Aurora, Littleton, Greenwood Village and near D.U.

Garbanzo’s appears to be a partnership between Mor and Breads of the World, a business entity and Panera Bread franchisee that runs more than 45 Paneras in Denver, Colorado Springs and Ohio.

Mor didn’t return a call seeking comment, but Café Society will update this blog if he does.
