$20,000

Despite the really unpleasant stench that greeted me at the front door of this otherwise pleasant restaurant residing in an old house on a busy stretch of pavement, I stayed, curious because this was once an elegant haunt (with a different cuisine) that I frequented in high school on very special occasions. Today, the kitchen turns out a style of food that you won’t find on every Denver street corner — and it’s good — but someone needs to realize when it’s time to empty the trash.

Can you guess where I’m eating?

Special bonus: Anyone who gives the first correct answer to the week’s Where am I drinking/eating posts is entered into a pool — and every Monday, we select one lucky winner who’ll receive a 2011 EatDenver dining deck, worth up to $520 in discounts at independent restaurants.
