The Hooters at 1390 South Colorado Boulevard will close after Friday’s dinner service. According to a statement from the busty chain, the brokerage firm that owns the shopping center where this particular restaurant is located plans to redevelop the property and couldn’t come to terms on a new lease with the franchise owner.

The Colorado Boulevard breastaurant — which has been in business for the past 23 years — was not only the first Hooters in the state, but the chain’s first location west of the Mississippi River. The franchise owner, Restaurants of America, is currently scouting for a new site for a Denver area Hooters.
Denver has had other Hooters, of course. At one point, the spot now occupied by the Palm was a Hooters; it moved from that spot to 1920 Blake Street, home home to Hayter’s & Co. And there are Hooters locations scattered around the ‘burbs, including Aurora, Lakewood and Westminster.
As for the shopping center at 1390 South Colorado Boulevard, real estate brokers Antonoff & Co plan to resurrect the property as Century 21 Plaza sometime next year. The plaza “will feature a unique array of restaurants and retailers in approximately 32,000 square feet of newly constructed, architecturally compelling buildings,” according to the company’s website.
