Bones looks like it will win the battle to be the first of the town’s new noodle houses to open. Frank Bonanno’s place at 301 East Seventh Avenue already has its name — the restaurateur’s childhood nickname — etched on the windows, and the renovation of the space inside (the old Sparrow Market) is going fast. Fast enough to make a pre-New Year’s opening look likely.
More important, Bonanno has a date for Bones’s liquor-license application: December 19. And it’s not likely that neighboring establishments will complain, since Bonanno owns two of them: Mizuna and Luca D’Italia.
