You may have noticed that Odelay Tacos on Colfax Avenue — and the Thirty Fourteen bar occupying the same space — have been dark for the past couple of days. An ownership change finalized last week is the cause, but the space should be back up and running this Friday. New co-owner David Cleland says they aren’t planning any big changes immediately, other than to focus on customer service and serve great drinks and tacos.

The previous owner of the building had been operating the place under three separate names: Odelay, Thirty Fourteen and the Beetle Bar — the upstairs bar and patio that was only available for private parties. Cleland says he and partners John Elliott and Toby Waters plan to consolidate the concept somewhat and open the Beetle Bar to customers.
Odelay will re-open this Friday at 4 p.m. and the bar will stay open until 2 a.m. nightly. Right now the partners are cleaning up the place and making Home Depot runs to make sure the space is at its best for the weekend. With Rockbar across the street closed, the three anticipate a solid late-night crowd in addition to customers just looking for good tacos on Colfax.
