It could have the oddest name ever: Oskar Blues Home Made Liquids and Solids. But don’t let that deter you from trying out this restaurant — because the liquids will come out of 43 craft taps. “This is an authentic craft beer bar right down to the keg-based fountains,” says owner Dale Katetchis, who opened his first restaurant, Oskar Blues Cajun Grill, back in April 1997, then added home-brewed beer two years later.

The solids should be noteworthy, too, since they include Southern-inspired BBQ from an in-house smoker named the “Midnight Toker,” which will turn out beer-can chicken, salmon and turkey as well as North Carolina-style BBQ pork and spare ribs. Jason Rogers, formerly of Second Home and Jll’s at the St. Julien, will be overseeing the kitchen.

After a delay of several weeks, Oskar Blues Home Made Liquids & Solids will finally open today at 11 a.m. at 1555 South Hover Street in Longmont.

And that’s solid. For a peek at the menu, click here.
