The second iteration of Beehive, chef/owner Janice Henning’s pared-down, seasonal foods showcase, opened yesterday in Boulder. The slim space that once housed Saxy’s Cafe now looks rustic yet serene, with stark white furniture and whimsical jar lights dangling overhead.

Diners can sit at separate tables or break bread at the community table. A roll of brown paper by the bar lists the day’s happy-hour specials and small plates, including a daily shooter of fresh soup.
Beehive will be open from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. daily for now, and Henning says that lunch and brunch service will be coming soon.
