The challenges facing local news organizations are very real. That's why reader support matters more than ever. If you believe independent journalism matters, make a contribution today and help us reach our summer fundraising goal of $25,000 by August 9.
After twelve years as a mainstay on East Colfax Avenue, Mezcal closed in May for a reboot of both Mezcal’s look and menu, with new direction from longtime owners Chris Swank and Lori Venegas and Chris Douglas taking over the kitchen. “We want to keep the things that give Mezcal its identity,” Venegas says. “I’ll be encompassing more of Mexico, not just the film stars and kitsch.” The refreshed Mezcal will reopen on August 29, and regulars on Colfax can’t wait. Says one reader:
Happy to see that this place is sticking around! The food and atmosphere was always a treat. Props to Colfax business owners that continually look to expand and beautify!
