It’s Opening Day, which means that bars and restaurants all over downtown, RiNo and LoHi will be celebrating the start of baseball season — which means lots of beer and brats. No sooner had we published our list of Ten Top Spots to Celebrate Opening Day, when we heard of even more tantalizing specials around town. But first, Daniel had this suggestion:

Wouldn’t the Number One spot Be Coors Field?

Maybe not. This just in: Stoic & Genuine, which just won our award for Best Oysters, will have an oyster-shucking station and Great Divide beer setup on the patio at Union Station from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Find out more at stoicandgenuine.com.

Just down Wynkoop Street, the Thirsty Lion will have three of Denver’s radio stations (Kool 105, Mix 100.3 and 92.5 The Wolf) broadcasting live outside on the patio from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; there will be specials and eight TVs for game-watching.

And during every Rockies home game this season, Elway’s Downtown will be extending happy hour all day, with $3 Coors Lights, $5 wine selections, $7 Skyy or Beefeater martinis, and a handful of appetizer specials including $6.50 crispy chicken wings. For reservations and more information, call the restaurant at 303-312-3107.
