Our recent coverage of the return of Godfather’s Pizza to Denver led to discussions of White Castle and In-N-Out Burger…and now, to one reader’s take on a real benefit of the boom: new and better restaurants, including our Best New Restaurant in the Best of Denver 2015, Mercantile Dining & Provision. Says Tim:
Seriously…the influx of new and different food is one of the few positives in this huge boom. Love Colorado. But our choices, when compared to world-class cities, was pretty lacking up until recently.
Don’t get me wrong. We had great places in the past (RIP Tom’s Home Cooking and Northwoods Inn: sad). But the options we have now? There are some REALLY amazing restaurants in this region. I like the options I have for any situation now.
The Mercantile in Union Station…literally one of the best restaurants I’ve ever experienced. And I’ve dined in NYC, LA, San Fran, Chicago. Everyone should check it out. Across the board stellar.
But wait, Tim isn’t done:
P.S.: I’m fifth-generation Coloradan, fourth-generation Denverite. In-N-Out is f’n delicious. Restaurateurs from around the world are coming here, and I for one love it. In-N-Out would just be a part of that…
What do you think of the changes in Denver’s dining scene? Would an In-N-Out be a worthy addition to our roster of restaurants?
