With all the drum-beating over terrorism and refugees, it’s sometimes difficult to recognize those in our midst living with the realities. While Paris was under attack by extremists, the Kassir family — owners of Damascus on South Colorado Boulevard since 1990 — were sending a shipping container full of humanitarian aid supplies to Syrian refugees. Syrians themselves, the family is working hard both to send help abroad and also represent their culture at home. And they’ve won many fans here. Says Steve:
LOVE this place! Amazing food and hospitality!!
Adds Melissa:
Fantastic food – even happier to support this business!
Adds David:
Seriously, I lived near that place and the food and people are awesome, their gyro is huge and very tasty. If you haven’t been, you should go — it’s not crazy expensive, either.
