Kevin Taylor’s eponymous restaurant has attained Denver’s first Forbes (formerly Mobil) Travel Guide Four Star rating, making it into the first round of 2010 winners named since the Mobil brand moved to Forbes.
The Forbes Travel website describes the insane criteria process for rating hotels, spas and restaurants, which sounds more akin to an IRS audit than a restaurant evaluation.
Which may explain why Taylor seems pleased. “I’m honored to receive the recognition,” he says. “Restaurant Kevin Taylor continues to be my pride and joy and it solidifies my love of the restaurant business.” And since a four-star rating puts Taylor in the same company as Daniel in NYC and Michel Richard Citronelle in Washington, DC, he should be happy.
Restaurant Kevin Taylor, located inside the Hotel Teatro, is the crown jewel in Taylor’s collection. His other properties include Prima Ristorante, Palettes at the Denver Art Museum, Limelight Supper Club and Lounge, Kevin Taylor’s at the Opera House and Rouge Steakhouse in Central City, which is only open during opera season.
And come next year, he’ll add Kevin Taylor Steak to his empire.
