Sonoda’s has shuttered at 550 Broadway. This location wasn’t technically part of the local sushi chain; two years ago, it was sold to a former employee of Sonoda’s with permission to use the name. But the spot had been struggling of late and once the lease was up, the current owner decided to close it. The closure came soon after Sonoda’s neighbor, Il Vicino, closed in anticipation of a move to South Gaylord, leaving Bombay Bowl, Jamba Juice, Noodles & Company and Chipotle as the only dining options in this plaza at Sixth and Broadway.
Sonoda’s other locations — 1620 Market Street, 9623 East County Line in Englewood and 3108 South Parker in Aurora — are all open for business as usual.
