Star Bar, 2137 Larimer Street, will kick off its first “Battle of the Nontenders” — a guest bartending cocktail challenge designed for those who have no experience behind the bar — on Thursday, July 25. And as a preview to the fun, Westword‘s own Lori Midson will be behind the stick this evening, partaking in a friendly competition against local freelance food photographer Adam Larkey.

The battle takes place at 6:30 p.m. tonight on Star Bar’s back patio, and will continue every Thursday night after the official start date. (The staff will also offer professional schooling for the competitors.)
The winner of each round will return to compete in the weeks that follow, until one person is crowned the nontender cocktail champion; all of the tips from the entire series will be donated to a charity of the winner’s choice. Check Star Bar’s Facebook page for more details.
