The corner joint that was most recently 1301 Santa Fe Tavern & Grill — and the Hoffbrau for years before that — has reopened closing almost exactly a year ago. There wasn’t much evidence of activity other than a few neon signs in the windows, but now there’s a banner on the railing of the rooftop patio announcing that the place has been renamed the Stone Pony.
Earlier this year the marquis above the door had promised Italian food; that sign is gone, but the Stone Pony’s Facebook page shows photos of lasagna and “Mom’s homemade sauce and noodles,” so there’s food inside as well as drinks. We’re hoping for a New Jersey vibe with plenty of Bruce Springsteen in the air, given the bar’s new name.
The Stone Pony is open daily from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m.
