Reader support matters more than ever
We're in the final stretch of our summer campaign. Our goal is to raise $25,000 to support the journalism our community relies on. Reader support is helping shape the future of local news.
The Sugar House Lounge, at 1395 West Alameda Avenue, marks its first birthday this weekend, with a family and friends party Friday, August 23, and a more, well, adult party on Saturday night — “a huge, crazy, crowded scene,” owner Scottie Ewing promises.
And there’s more sugar in store for Sugar House. Ewing says he’s shooting to get the place open for open for lunch — he’s snagged a Steak and Ale kitchen manager, who was freed up when Bennigan’s went out of business — and happy hour in September, maybe as soon as the second week of the month, with special happy hour entertainment.
And remember, “if sexy offends you…stay home.”
