The original Tamales by La Casita.Tamales by La Casita just got approved for a liquor license. No, not the original Tamales by La Casita at 3651 Navajo Street that’s owned by Paul Sandoval and his wife, state legislator Paula Sandoval, one of ten candidates vying for the District 1 Denver City Council seat in today’s special election. That location already has its license.
The Tamales by La Casita at 9100 Pena Boulevard — which happens to be Denver International Airport — was approved for a liquor license last month by the Denver Department of Excise and Licenses. Which gives us one more place to refuel at DIA.
The District 1 ballots are due by 7 p.m. today. Joel Warner sent all ten candidates a questionnaire asking their opinions a variety of topics. The only one not to respond? Paula Sandoval, whose restaurant and Statehouse experience earned her an endorsement from the Colorado Restaurant Association’s PAC.
