The Desk, a co-working cafe, is now open in the former Buffalo Exchange space at 230 East 13th Avenue — after a slight delay/. But that’s just part of the business.

“We’ve been very positively received,” says Kristian Barowsky, who co-owns the spot with his wife, Mandy Stevens. “We’re really excited to be a part of the neighborhood.”

The front of the completely renovated space serves as a traditional cafe, with first-come-first-served free seating, standard cafe fare, coffee from Ink, local beer and wine by the glass. Communal and private work spaces are available down the hall for $5 and $10 an hour, respectively. Reservations can be made on the Desk’s website. And for $375 a month, you can have unlimited access to all the spaces during regular business hours — Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
