The Garlic Knot, a homegrown chain, is hosting a grand-opening celebration today for its latest location in the Mission Trace Shopping Center, at 3200 South Wadsworth Boulevard in Lakewood. The pizza and pasta chain will be offering free samples from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., as well as other giveaways — including the possibility of free pizza for a year.
The first Garlic Knot opened in 2001 in Littleton, featuring a lineup of Italian dishes, New York-style pizza, subs and, not surprisingly, garlic knots.
In 2010, the Garlic Knot started offering franchise opportunities; over the last two years, six new locations have opened, with up to another six slated to open in 2013.
