The challenges facing local news organizations are very real. That's why reader support matters more than ever. If you believe independent journalism matters, make a contribution today and help us reach our summer fundraising goal of $25,000 by August 9.
If you’re a little bit country, you’re going to like Lil & Lou’s Wreck — a lot. The bar, which bills itself as “Sexy, Southern Fun,” opened last week around the corner from Larimer Square. And it’s a country paradise, complete with a tire swing hanging from the ceiling, bras hanging from the bars, and an all-female staff of waitresses and bartenders, many of whom will jump up on the bar to do a sexy line dance…to country music, of course, because that’s the only genre you’ll hear at the Wreck Denver.
“Sexy, Southern fun is what we go by,” says bartender Hannah Losurdo. “We wanted a country club that wasn’t gonna turn into a late-night club.”
Customers are encouraged by a “Bras 4 Booze” sign to add their undergarments to the collection already on display; they’re also invited to join in the choreographed line dances.”We encourage people to come and drink and have a good time and just enjoy the atmosphere,” says Losurdo, who definitely does.
