As the northern hemisphere tilts toward the sun during this season, the increased heat and humidity (what there is of it in Colorado, anyway) tends to drive oenophiles away from the full-bodied reds and toward the lighter, crisper whites. South of the equator, it’s wintertime, but that’s no reason not to enjoy tonight’s South of the Equator White Wine Tasting at the Blending Cellar, 946 Pearl Street in Boulder, which runs from 7 to 10 p.m. Try ten white wines from Argentina, Chile, South Africa, New Zealand and Australia.
