Waffle Brothers, which got its start in a cart and then opened its first brick-and-mortar location four years ago, will be leaving its original spot at 393 Corona this weekend.

“Our last day is Sunday,” says John Power, one of the two brothers behind the business. “We’ll probably be down for a month or two and then reopen in June or July.” And when it reopens, it’ll be in a spot at First Avenue and Washington Street that’s only a minute or two from the current location — and it’ll be a few hundred feet larger.
“It’s a win-win for us,” Power adds. “We were looking for a new space to up our game.”
But fans won’t have to go without while the new space is renovated. The brothers opened a second spot, Waffle Brothers Pub Style, last year — so anyone craving a waffle will just have to head over to East 17th Avenue.
