The “Fusion Restaurant” banner hanging on the outside of Zaidy’s Deli Downtown, at the corner of 15th and Lawrence streets, has thrown more than a few fans into a panic. But not to worry: Zaidy’s isn’t leaving.
In fact, it’s growing. While it will continue to serve its traditional deli breakfasts (starting at 6:30 a.m.) and lunch (until 3 p.m.), it’s now going to stay open into the evening, when it will turn into Zaidy’s Fusion Grill, with an expanded bar and a menu of small plates with a Mediterranean emphasis.
“The sign’s wrong,” said the employee who answered the phone this morning. “We’re here.”
There are no plans to change up the evening offerings at the original Zaidy’s,121 Adams Street, which is already open until 8 p.m. Read Jason Sheehan’s review of that Zaidy’s here.
