East End Applied Arts opened in 2004 as a gallery for owner Kim Harrell’s silversmith work and jewelry. In July 2010, she decreased the gallery’s floor space to be a showroom for her work and that of artist Phyllis Rider. Every third Saturday, Harrell hosts a beading class for the public.
Clay artist Marie E.v.B. Gibbons works in the studio, where she also holds workshops and classes for the public. On First Fridays, she offers a new “object” for passersby to try and mold out of her favorite medium.
The Foothills Art Center, located in Golden, has been hosting local artists since 1968. The main building of the center got its start in 1872 as a Presbyterian church from 1872, and makes a lovely setting for the exhibits here.
