Essentially an intimate Southwest Denver lounge during the week, MGM’s can fill up quickly on the weekends, when it’s more of a dance club. Sundays are also a popular nights at MGM’s, which has been open for three decades and attracts a predominantly Latino crowd.
Inside this unassuming but very brightly painted, salmon-toned building, the Sierra family makes fabulous Mexican food. The pork carnitas are melt-in-your-mouth delicious, and the guacamole is always freshly mashed. Our favorite, though, is the crispy chile relleno, a poblano stuffed with Jack cheese and deep-fried, then buried under a blanket of fiery green chile.
