Firehouse Tavern
Although vintage guitars share space with a motorcycle mounted on the walls of the Firehouse Tavern, the Westminster bar doesn’t just draw bikers and rockers. Since 2009, the bar’s spacious interior, roomy patio space and affordable drink specials have attracted a diverse crowd, from newly minted 21-year-olds to grizzled toughs sporting bandannas and sleeveless shirts. The constant drink specials aren’t the only thing pulling in the crowds: The two-story building is also a playground for drinkers, with beer pong, pool and Texas Hold ‘Em tables to break up the bar’s warehouse feel. What’s more, the Firehouse’s professional sound system and spacious indoor stage play host to a weekly schedule of live rock music, a selection rooted in classic rock. The alcohol and food selections are standard dive-bar fare, but the wealth of games, music and other distractions make the Firehouse stand out.
