Brothers Lee and P.T. Woods began distilling in 2012, opened their doors to the public in March 2013, and have been crafting excellent whiskey, rye, gin and liqueurs ever since. Their Salida tasting room is pure Colorado: Nature photography lines the exposed brick walls of this former auto-body shop, and a kayak dangles from the ceiling. And while you don't have to drive 140 miles to have a taste of the distinctive, smooth-but-smoky Wood's Tenderfoot Whiskey (it's available at a number of local liquor stores), can you think of a better way to enjoy it than after biking through the Arkansas Hills or soaking in the nearby Mount Princeton hot springs? We can't.
