Move over, marijuana. Denver is a natural medicine town this month, with the arrival of the MAPS Psychedelic Science Conference. Looking to build off a 2023 expo that saw record attendance at the Colorado Convention Center, Psychedelic Science 2025 is expected to bring thousands of psychonauts, mushroom growers, psychedelic industry members and healing professionals to downtown Denver. But that's just part of the action.
From an official kickoff concert at the Mission Ballroom on June 17 to afterparties, dinners and magazine launches, activities abound. Whether you want to network, make friends or enjoy music, here are a handful of psychedelic events taking place during Psychedelic Science 2025 week in Denver.
Psychedelic Science 2025

The country's largest psychedelic industry and science conference is coming back to downtown Denver this June. After breaking records for attendance and coverage in 2023, Psychedelic Science will return to the Colorado Convention Center in 2025 with over 400 presenters, nearly 190 workshops and presentations, and more than forty associated side parties, concerts and networking gatherings. PORTAL Dome

Described as an intimate, 360-degree projection dome, the PORTAL will be full of music, film, art and conversation through Psychedelic Science 2025 and into the weekend. Located a short walk away from the Colorado Convention Center, the PORTAL is hosting meditative sessions every morning at 8 a.m. with Sacred Society, with live comedy, music, light shows, discussions and other events in the PORTAL all week.

Combining art, mushrooms and the burgeoning psychedelics industry, Shroomski Melt will have artist exhibitions and auctions throughout the night, with networking and fun in between. Tickets are $50, with a 50 percent discount for active duty military and veterans.

On top of the music, you'll get a healthy dose of comedy and art at this MAPS official kickoff party for Psychedelic Science 2025. The funky and immersive show is headlined by Reggie Watts and Flying Lotus, with DJ sets by Jim James and Vic Mensa, as well. Tickets (16+) can be purchased through AXS or ticket resellers.

Brought to you by an organizer behind the Denver Shroom Fest, this multi-level space will be full of psychedelic art, education and music, with food and fun around every corner. There will be panel discussions, workshops, fireside chats and networking, as well as live comedy, DJs, art and refreshments. If you're more into having fun, there's a floor and room for that — but if you can't wait to soak in more psychedelic knowledge, there will be professional chats taking place throughout the second and third floors. Microdosing Collective After Hours

Hosted by the Microdosing Collective and Ritual Disco, this afterparty will have a who's who of people in the psychedelic industry and advocacy, including Chelsea Coyle, Joshua Kappel, Alli Schaper and more. There will be dancing, microdosing, magic, brand activations and food trucks, with DK sets by Cole Knight, Alex Golden and Austin Gavlak. Tickets are $100, but the good vibes are free.
Black Psychedelic Juneteenth Dinner

Celebrate Black power, resilience, creativity and more during a Juneteenth celebration and dinner. The gathering, hosted by the Juneteenth & Black Planning Committee for Psychedelic Science 2025, includes a buffet-style dinner and cash bar as well as awards and speakers connected to the psychedelic science community. Tickets are $28.52.
Afterglow

Hosted by Osgaia and the Flying Sage, this close-out party to Psychedelic Science is inspired by Ken Kesey's Acid Tests, according to organizers. After beginning with a grounding opening ceremony, the event shifts to an "eclectic rave landscape of electronic music...massage therapy, art installations, light non-alcoholic refreshments and more." Doors open at 8 p.m., with the opening ceremony running from 9 to 11 p.m., during which no entry will be allowed. After the ceremony ends at 11 p.m., though, the rave party begins and doors reopen. Tickets are $75 on the day of, but you can save money by purchasing online beforehand.
EcoSex Launch Party

Head to interactive art gallery Spectra to celebrate the third issue of Exosexuality magazine, a new sexually focused publication. There will be tarot readings, elixirs, live activations and a DJ, with silent auction to support EcoSex. Tickets to the event, described as a "sensual playground of interactive art for the earthy, the erotic, and the curious" by organizers, start at $50, with VIP and tarot card additions available, as well as a limited amount of low-income tickets for $35.
