A batch of cannabis-infused gummies from Wyld, one of the country's largest edibles brands, has been flagged by Colorado regulators for improper dosage labeling.
According to a November 1 informational bulletin from the Colorado Marijuana Enforcement Division, "some products" in a batch of Wyld Peach 2:1 gummies have CBD and THC labeling discrepancies between the outer box and the inner plastic container.
Each peach-flavored gummy is infused with about five milligrams of THC and ten milligrams of CBD, which is correctly labeled on the box of the Peach 2:1 gummies in question, the MED notes. However, that ratio is switched on some of the plastic containers in which the gummies are stored, showing each serving as having about ten milligrams of THC and five milligrams of CBD.
That may seem like a small amount, but novice and occasional cannabis users can attest to how much five milligrams of THC can impact their experience, and both the MED and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment
"deem it a consumer safety concern when regulated marijuana products are found to have been mislabeled," according to the November 1 notice.
The lone batch of Wyld Peach 2:1 gummies included in the state bulletin for potential mislabeling has the following batch number on both the box and the plastic jars: PCH 139.
A Wyld representative did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the mislabeling, but the MED notice says the Oregon-based company is collaborating with state cannabis officials to rectify the situation.
"The MED and CDPHE are sharing this information to increase public and consumer awareness in the interest of public health and safety. Individuals who experience adverse health effects after consuming the affected product should seek medical attention immediately and report the event to the MED by submitting a MED Reporting Form," the MED memo reads.
