Hidden deep in the jungle, away from casual clubbers, true devotees can find exciting sounds by innovative talents not yet discovered by the masses. Drum-and-bass artist Red One is among them: A hit on the Euro side of the pond, he's not well-known to club-goers in the States. That should change as his Redness plays more U.S. dates, including a show this Thursday, February 5, at the Snake Pit. Starting out as a teenage promoter in his native London, the DJ/producer quickly proved he had bigger things in mind. Pounding the jungle charts with heavily rotated original tracks and masterful mixes, Red heats up dance floors everywhere with releases from his Ram Records label. Londoners already know his live sets are incinerating; don't be the only one in Denver who's not seeing Red.
KEEP WESTWORD FREE... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we'd like to keep it that way. With local media under siege, it's more important than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism.
