Support the independent voice of Denver and help keep the future of Westword free.
In case you missed it — and how could you? — it's the sixth annual Colorado Gives Day. If you want to put your money where the music is, there are a lot of options (more than 200) listed on coloradogives.org. If you want a side of tacos with your philanthropy, Illegal Pete's has pledged to donate 50 percent of its proceeds garnered between 5 and 11 p.m. Six of its locations will donate half its sales tonight to a different designated music-related organization, listed below.
Illegal Pete's South Broadway - Youth On Record
Illegal Pete's DU - Swallow Hill Music
Illegal Pete's DTC - Colorado Youth Symphony
Illegal Pete's Lodo - Levitt Pavilion Denver
Illegal Pete's Pearl St. Mall - eTown
Illegal Pete's Fort Collins - SpokesBUZZ
Those who wish to make live donations to these nonprofits will receive a ticket for a free draft beer at Illegal Pete's. For more information on Illegal Pete's as a business, a musician-support collective and record label, and more, click here.
Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Denver with no paywalls.
